Central Florida Athletics (CFA) Junior Fearless Level 2 Cheer Team were named International Champions for their division out of 11 teams at the 2016 UCA Cheer Competition at ESPN’s Wide World of Sports on March 13, 2016. With this win, the Junior Fearless Team also received CFA’s first At-Large Bid to compete at the prestigious D2 National Small Program Cheer Championship on April 30- May 1, 2016 at the Tampa Convention Center. Coached by Jackie Mathews and Brice Thomas, the Junior Fearless Cheer Team consists of 17 young ladies with ages ranging from 9 – 14. This is the first summit bid earned by CFA, which is only in its second year of operation.
In addition, CFA’s Tiny Fab Level 1, Senior Fortune Level 1 and the Senior Flex Co-Ed Level 3 all finished in the top 3 in their respective divisions. Youth Fame Level 1 and Mini Fancy Level 2 finished in fourth place.

Founded in 2014 by Justine and Tom Mathews, Central Florida Athletics is Jacksonville’s “Premier” All Star Cheer Program. The state-of-the-art facility offers a full spring floor, one practice floor, runway trampoline, vault, uneven bars and an air conditioned viewing room with live action cameras. Many of the coaches are USASF certified and offer 57 years of combined coaching. In addition to competitive cheerleading, the gym also offers competitive gymnastics teams (level 0 – 10), tumbling and conditioning classes for all ages and skill levels, all-star prep teams, private sessions for teams or individuals for tumbling and stunting, summer camps, and an after school pick up.
