Gym Manager Coach Amanda Skeens
Amanda began cheering at the early age of 8 and quickly fell in love with the sport. She has experience in rec, school, and college cheerleading. Amanda spent 4 years cheering at the University of North Carolina Charlotte where she earned her degrees in Public Relations, Psychology, and Elementary Education. She competed in both small and large coed at NCA College Nationals and placed as high as 3rd. Amanda has worked for both Cheersport Nationals and Universal Spirit competition companies running arenas, managing warm-ups and assisting judges. Amanda has spent the last 4 years coaching a tiny team and working closely with athletes at an all-star gym. Amanda currently works full time as a 5th grade teacher in St. Johns County at Patriot Oaks Academy. She will serve as a team coach, school team coach, tumbling and class instructor, as well as gym manager.
Coach Terry Skeens
Terry is a two time high school and collegiate All American athlete. During his time cheering in high school, he and his teammates won both state and national titles. At the collegiate level, Terry was recognized for his ability and strength in coed partner stunting. While earning a degree in biology, he cheered for ten time collegiate national champions, Trinity Valley. In his time away from the mat at Trinity, he worked as a private camp instructor for CTC. Between 2002 and 2004 Terry was named the most improved staffer and also as staffer of the year!
In 2005, Terry was offered a full scholarship to cheer at Hawaii Pacific University on their large coed team. That year, he also went on to perform at the 2005 NFL Probowl halftime show with All American Cheer and Dance.
Combined, Terry has 16 years of coaching experience and expertise. He is recognized and respected by his peers as one of the top coaches and choreographers in the nation. His coaching endeavors include five years as the All Star Cheer and Tumbling director at Florida Elite All Stars in both Jacksonville and Gainesville, Florida from 2004-2009, two years at ACX All Stars in Colombia, SC from 2009-2011, where he also performed on their IOC5 team at Worlds, ranking in 18th place in their division. Terry also spent five years at Infinity All Stars in Jacksonville, Florida from 2011-2016.
Both the teams that he has coached and the routines he has choreographed have brought in over 500 National titles, 26 Summit bids either paid or at large, 3-5 Summit championships, and 10 Worlds bid recipients both paid and at large as well. Terry Skeens’ hard work and dedication to the sport have also helped earn his teams named titles in all three of the Triple Crown events including, Cheersport, NCA, and UCA.
His knowledge of competitive cheerleading is vast as well and he is considered a lifelong learner of the sport along with its evolution from year to year. Terry Skeens is USASF certified through level 5. He is a former Regional Competition Director for the American Championships and he is also recognized as a Varsity panel judge since 2009. He graduated from the second ever USASF Leadership Program in 2012 and has been nominated by the governing body of All Star Cheer, USASF, for awards such as Leadership through Sportsmanship in 2012 and Coach of the Year in 2013.
Coach Courtney Chevier
Coach Courtney has over 18 years of coaching experience in both cheerleading and gymnastics. Courtney’s love of the sport began at the early age of 3 when she was enrolled in her first gymnastics class. Courtney spent 12 years competing in gymnastics and was a level 8 competitive gymnasts turned cheerleader. Courtney spent 4 years cheering at First Coast Allstars throughout high school before joining Brandon Allstars Open team. Courtney is entering her 9th year as a competitive allstar cheerleading coach and brings and enthusiasm and love for the sport that cannot be matched. Courtney coaches teams, tumbling, flexibility and is our Summer Camp director.
Coach Ian Inman
Coach Ian has experience in both gymnastics and cheerleading. As a young child Ian competed as a level 5 gymnast and then transitioned to the cheer world in high school. Ian competed for both high school and allstars for 3 years. Ian has been a participant at the highest level for cheerleading competing in both Summit and the Cheerleading Worlds. Ian is now entering his second year as a cheerleading and tumbling coach.
Coach Rose Pendergraft
This will be Coach Rose’s first year with CFA-JAX. She is joining us with experience in all aspects of the cheer and gymnastics world. Rose has over 10 year of cheerleading experience including pop warner, high school and allstars. Rose has coached tumbling, gymnastics, dance and cheer over the last 4 years and brings a range of knowledge and tons of enthusiasms to our gym.
Coach Julian Samuels
With over 15 years of tumbling experience Coach Julian brings an energy and tumbling knowledge that is unmatched in the Jacksonville area. Julian has been on the biggest stages in cheerleading and has walked away with 1 NCA Championship, 5+Cheersport Championships, several UCA championships and a first place finish at the cheerleading Worlds in 2011 with ACE Allstars of Alabama. After winning worlds he went on to win college nationals with Faulkner State in 2012. Julian has won over 51 first place medals throughout his cheerleading career and is excited to bring his experiences to CFA-JAX. Along with being a championship cheerleader he has coached tumbling clinics all across the United States and Mexico as well as judged for several cheerleading companies.
Coach Whitney Barnett
Whitney began her cheerleading career right here in Jacksonville at Mandarin Athletic Association Pop Warner. After cheering pop warner for 3 years she transitioned to allstars where she continued cheering for 7 more years and simultaneously cheered 4 years at Mandarin High. Whitney has experience in coaching pop warner and was a half season coach at Orlando Allstars. Coach Whitney will be joining CFA-JAX as a coach on our prep team.
Coach Rocky Mounce
At the early age of 4 Rocky started cheering and her love for the sport has not stopped. Since then she has cheered 11 years of allstars, and has experience in both competitive high school and college cheer. Rocky has coached a variety of teams ranging from tiny to college level athletes. Coach Rocky also danced for Top Gun Allstars where she placed 3rd at the Dance Worlds. Rocky will be joining CFA-JAX as a coach for our prep program.
Coach Tanya White
Coach Tanya started coaching at age 13 where she was a part of the 1st ever 5 time back to back National Pop Warner Champions. Pop Warner was the springboard for her to begin her very own All Star Program, Southwest Florida All Stars. For 14 years she grew the program to over 13 teams and after dominating in every level across the country including a NCA Dallas win she decided to retire from the gym. Since closing the gym Tanya has moved across Florida and the Country for her husband’s job but her love from cheer followed everywhere she went. She has coached at Power Cheer, Eaton High School, Lehigh Senior High School, and even opened another all star facility in Colorado before moving back to Florida. Tanya has worked at Creekside High School for the last 3 years and was a critical part in helping them win their first State title in 2018. She will be taking on the roll of Varsity Cheer coach at Creekside High School for the 2018-2019 season. She is entering her 30th year of coaching cheer and is looking forward to being a part of the CFAmily. Along with her extensive coaching resume she has also been a cheer judge for State and National competitions for 15 years and a choreographer for both High school and All Star programs.
In her spare time she likes to hang out with her Husband Truitte and kids Madison and Marcus. Tanya is also a Traveling Cosmetologists and works out of home salon for locals, as well as a part time Photographer and will always be seen with a camera in hand at comps.
Coach Meghan Ludy
Meghan has been dancing since the age of 2 learning all the different styles of dance. She entered the all-star world at the age of 7 where she was a competitive cheerleader for 10 years as well as a competitive dancer in all genres such as, pom, jazz, and hip hop dance. She did all-star cheer and dance, simultaneously was on Mandarin High School Varsity cheer team all 4 years as well as being captain her senior year, where she choreographed all their performances.
In 2008, Meghan competed for the first time at Dance Worlds with American All-Stars (Jacksonville, FL). Meghan was 2010 and 2011 back to back State Champion in the Hip Hop Duo division. Meghan competed with Extreme All-Stars (Melbourne, FL) on their Open Coed Hip Hop team from 2013-2016. In four seasons with this team, they received 4 National Titles, 4 Dance World Titles in 2nd place and 3 Dance World U.S. Trials in 1st place. In 2014, Meghan was invited by Julie Johnson to dance with her team “Studio One” (Orlando, FL) a prestigious Hip Hop dance group known for their innovative tricks, and wild entertaining performances. Meghan traveled with Studio One to Las Vegas to compete in the Hip Hop International competition where they placed 3rd in the United States. In 2016, she traveled with Extreme All-Stars to Las Vegas to compete at the All Star Games and won 1st place.
Simultaneously, while dancing, she also attended the University of Central Florida, where she graduated with a bachelor degree in Elementary Education in 2015. Meghan is now a 4th grade teacher at Duval Charter.
CFA Junior Coaches are athletes currently cheering or dancing here at CFA. We select these standout athletes that display good character and an extensive knowledge of cheer and dance. These model athletes work closely with coaches and the teams.
